The Old Vic offers four 3-month, full time internships for those eager to forge a career in the arts:

Old Vic Theatre Company Intern

This position provides support for The Old Vic Theatre Company (which produces The Old Vic's season of plays) and is based in the Production office at The Old Vic Theatre. The role includes a wide range of administrative tasks and is well suited to individuals interested in pursuing a career in theatre production. Old Vic Theatre Trust Intern

This is a new position supporting The Old Vic Theatre Administration team. The successful candidate will be handling a range of administrative tasks including hiring enquiries, health and safety compliance, guest ticketing, stage door cover and handling general enquiries via email and phone. Old Vic New Voices Intern

The position is supporting Old Vic New Voices (the education, community and emerging talent departments), handling a range of administrative tasks including liaising with schools, communicating theatrical information to young actors, writers, directors and producers, assisting with OVNV productions and events. Old Vic Theatre Trust Development Intern

This position supports the Development Department which fundraises for The Old Vic Theatre Company and The Old Vic Theatre Trust, which is a registered charity. Its aim is to raise voluntary funds for the Theatre from individuals, companies and charitable trusts and foundations through individual memberships, corporate partnerships and grants. The successful candidate will be handling a range of administrative tasks including communications with members, maintaining the database, research, handling general enquiries via email and phone, and assisting at events. There are four internships a year, each lasting 3 months. Internship dates and application timings are as follows:

January - March (please apply in December)

April - June (please apply in March)

July - September (please apply in June)

October - December (please apply in September)

Please make clear the internship dates you are applying for in your application and note that we will only be able to consider your application for the next available internship slot.

Interns are given a small contribution towards expenses. You will be expected to work 5 days a week, 10-6pm, but need to be prepared to work outside of these hours if necessary. We always have a high volume of applications to get through and so it may be some time before we are able to get back to you. If successful you will be asked to attend an interview at The Old Vic.
