The Old Vic Internship Programme offers four 3-month, full time internships for those eager to forge a career in the arts:

1.Old Vic Theatre Company Intern
The position supports The Old Vic Theatre Company (which produces The Old Vic's season of plays), handling a range of administrative tasks including ticketing, liaising with our press agency, media monitoring, supporting the production and marketing departments, and handling general enquiries via email and phone. This position is ideally suited to those wanting to pursue a career in Theatre Production.

2.Old Vic Theatre Trust Intern
The position supports The Old Vic Theatre Trust team handling a range of administrative tasks including charity governance, hiring enquiries, health and safety compliance, building and FOH support, guest ticketing, stage door cover and handling general enquiries via email and phone.

3.Old Vic New Voices Intern
The position supports Old Vic New Voices (the education, community and emerging talent departments), handling a range of administrative tasks including liaising with schools, communicating theatrical information to young actors, writers, directors and producers, assisting with OVNV productions and events and handling general enquiries via e-mail and phone.

4.Old Vic Theatre Trust Development Intern
The position supports the Development Department which fundraises from individuals, companies, charitable trusts and foundations, for The Old Vic Theatre Company and registered charity, The Old Vic Theatre Trust, handling a range of administrative tasks including communications with members, maintaining the database, arranging ticket bookings, research, assisting at events, and handling general enquiries via email and phone.

Internship dates and application timings are as follows:
January - March, apply in November
April - June, apply in February
July - September, apply in May
October - December, apply in August

Interns are given a small contribution towards expenses. You will be expected to work 5 days a week, 10-6pm, but need to be prepared to work outside of these hours if necessary. We always have a high volume of applications to get through and so it may be some time before we are able to get back to you. If successful you will be asked to attend an interview at The Old Vic. Unsuccessful candidates will not be contacted.

Please specify which Internships you would like to be considered for in order of preference listed 1-4, with 1 being your preferred option. Please state if there are any internships that you would not consider. Please make clear the internship dates you are applying for in your application and note that we will only be able to consider your application for the next available internship slot.


The Old Vic Theatre Tunnels Internships
The Old Vic Theatre has several amazing opportunities for people to work in their unique new arts space The Old Vic Tunnels. Internships are a great way of gaining valuable practical experience that can equip you with the skills you need for future work.

There will be 10 internships running across all of the following departments: Marketing, Administration, Producing, Operations and Fundraising. You will cover a variety of tasks which will give you the opportunity to help to deliver projects and get a real-hands on experience. We will actively encourage you to explore your own ideas and help you to gain skills and qualifications in areas of work of interest to you. All aspects of your work will be guided by professionals at The Old Vic, V-Inspired, and the wider working world. Training can be both practical and vocational i.e. from first aid to dance, or team-building to beat-boxing!

The internships are voluntary, although we will be covering travel expenses and are able to provide a daily food allowance. As an intern you will be required to commit to 3 days a week, for 3 months, although these times will be flexible so as to work around the Tunnel programme.
People from all backgrounds, disciplines and abilities can join The Tunnels Internships. There are no stipulations on experience; we just need you to be tenacious, hard working and a team player who considers themselves to be a people person!
