Our time at The Old Vic Tunnels draws to a close in March 2013. The Tunnels was an adventurous and exciting project which started as a temporary event and performance space in 2009 with the inaugural show Tunnel 228. Over this time, the venue earned a reputation as one of the most creative spaces in London. We have three great years to look back on, and are proud of the remarkable range of events and productions that we have presented in the space.
The Old Vic Tunnels saw indie phenomenon Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros create five nights of the Wild West on Mars; the legendary New York Dolls perform; a summer term from the National Youth Theatre; Ludovico Einaudi’s album launch; an underground New York streetscape evolve with screenings from Everyman Cinemas; the Lazarides Gallery’s annual art exhibition including a Michelin-starred pop-up restaurant; a summer fundraiser with Sir Tom Jones; OVNV’s award-winning community play Epidemic and a whole host of other artistic delights.
