The Old Vic’s Long COVID Wellness Project will investigate the benefits of engaging with the arts to support those with long COVID.
This research-based intervention will work with specialised Movement and Voice Consultants and Health Practitioners to create a six-week programme working with 16 adults with long COVID. The weekly sessions will focus on how we can use movement and breathing techniques to support fatigue, muscle and body aches, loss of strength and balance issues.
The project has conducted a detailed five-month research period to gain insight on the impact of long COVID on individuals’ day-to-day lives, mental health and wellbeing.
This research has informed our Movement and Voice Consultants as they co-create six weekly workshop sessions that will be offered for free and delivered in two groups – one online and one in person (government restrictions permitting). This is a participatory, creative project led by Movement and Voice Theatre Practitioners and supported by a Drama Therapist.
