Friends Membership FAQs


You should receive your Membership card by post within two weeks of joining and you can begin using your benefits straight away. If you lose your Membership card, please email with your full name and address to receive a replacement.


Always remember to log in to your account before booking tickets. You can do this by clicking the person icon in the top right corner of your screen. You will then be recognised as a Member, be able to access priority booking and won’t be charged any booking fees. If you have any issues logging in or accessing your benefits online, please call the Friends booking line on 0344 871 7635.


Mostly we communicate with Friends by email, so please check that your contact details are up-to-date. You can do this on our website by clicking on Manage account once you’ve logged in. We also need your home address in order to send your Membership card and claim Gift Aid on your contribution if applicable.


If you pay by Direct Debit your membership will renew automatically. If not, there are several ways to renew your Membership:

    • Renew online via our Friends page and click on the Join or Renew button
    • Download the renewal form and return it to the following address: Friends Office, The Old Vic, The Cut, London SE1 8NB or email
    • Call the Friends office 020 7981 0983
    • Renew in person at the Box Office desk


If you signed up by Direct Debit, your Membership will be automatically renewed after 12 months. We’ll send you a reminder letter along with your new Membership card. You can cancel your Direct Debit at any time. Get in touch at if you would like to cancel your Membership.

As a registered charity The Old Vic can claim Gift Aid on your whole contribution towards your Friends Membership. If you are a UK tax payer please consider making your support go further by downloading the Gift Aid declaration and returning the completed form to


If you purchase a Gift Membership online, an activation code will be sent to you by email to give to the gift recipient. Please note the recipient will not receive any communication from us until they email us at to activate their Membership.

If you received a Gift Membership, please email us at with your activation code to redeem and activate your Membership.
