The Old Vic Lab offers 100% subsidised rehearsal space and support to a variety of projects throughout the next year.
How can I apply?
We invite emerging artists and companies to apply for up to two weeks of free rehearsal or workshop space. Applications are currently closed but please check here for future opportunities.
What do I get?
If successful, we will allocate you selected dates in one of our rehearsal spaces at The Old Vic Workrooms, Bermondsey. The time and space will be yours to do with as you see fit and a member of The Old Vic team will be available to offer feedback and advice. You will also have access to the Green Room, a relaxing breakout space and central hub for artists working in the building.
What are you looking for?
We hope that access to The Lab will help forge interesting collaborations, pushing the boundaries of process and form. We want The Lab to generate work that resonates with contemporary society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We are looking to develop untold stories that we don’t tend to see or hear on our stages. Priority will be given to work that goes some way in achieving these aims.
Please note we are not necessarily looking for work to programme at The Old Vic, but would like to support the development of projects that could belong elsewhere in the wider industry.
