Front Line Lambeth

FrontLine Lambeth 2

Applications for Front Line Lambeth are now closed.

If you’re aged 16-25, living in London and not in education, training or employment, we’re offering you the opportunity to discover more about working in the creative industry, develop key transferable skills and get paid for it.

Front Line Lambeth offers paid placements at cultural organisations across Lambeth, including Pop Brixton, Southbank Centre, Streatham Space Project, Beaconsfield Contemporary Art, The Africa Centre and here at The Old Vic.

As well as on the job training, the programme will culminate in a CV workshop exploring the skills you’ve developed and how to apply them to your next steps and a networking session with industry professionals and prospective employers.

Each placement offers a different set of duties that will vary depending on the organisation but here are some examples of areas you may work in

• Box Office: Welcome customers, prepare tickets for collection and see how tickets are booked
• Ushering: Ensure that all customers are looked after during their visit to the show or event
• Duty Management: Shadow a Duty Manager and learn what goes into running the Front of House during a show or event
• Café / Bar: Learn from a team of baristas and serving staff on the smooth running of a café bar space
• Events: Get stuck in with an events team setting up, running and taking down for an event
• Marketing: See how effective communication through social media and marketing can impact a business
• Social Action: Learn how a community-centred approach informs day to day business operations

  • Induction Workshop: Mon 11 Oct, 4pm–6pm. Streatham Space Project
  • Five shifts between Mon 18 Oct–Sun 21 Nov (each shift will last approximately four hours)
  • Next Steps Workshop: Mon 22 Nov, 4pm–6pm. The Old Vic
  • Networking and follow up event: Mon 06 Dec, 4pm–6pm. The Old Vic
  • This programme is designed for London residents aged 16–25 looking to explore a career in the creative sector
  • You must not be in education, employment or training at the start of the programme on 11 October 2021
  • All roles require interacting with customers and representing the organisation in a positive way, so we are looking for friendly people who are keen to learn something new
  • Please note you cannot apply if you have already completed Front Line Lambeth or Front Line in person at The Old Vic
  • We will work with each successful applicant to create a schedule but you must have good availability, for example, no holidays booked from 18 October to 22 November

Applications for Front Line Lambeth are now closed.
