Old Vic New Voices Festival: Actor Opportunities
Old Vic New Voices supports emerging theatre artists and their work, equipping them with the best possible chance of success. Over the past year we have commissioned 13 exceptional emerging writers in the US and the UK and this summer, we will bring those plays to life through a festival of rehearsed readings taking place on the historic Old Vic Stage. These will be produced, directed and performed by the most exciting emerging and established talent that the industry has to offer.
Auditions are open to all and are allocated on a first come first served basis. You dont need an agent or even a long list of credits all we ask is that you are a committed performer with an interest in contemporary new writing.
The festival will run 19 June – 24 July 2015 with readings taking place on one afternoon per week. Each play will receive two days of rehearsal and a technical rehearsal on the morning of the reading.
There are 49 roles with varying playing ages and backgrounds.
The Audition Process
Auditions will take place 7 – 16 May at the Old Vic New Voices Workrooms in Bermondsey. This will be a group audition for which you should prepare a short monologue (of no more than 2 minutes) from a contemporary play of your choosing.
Recalls will take place the week beginning 18 May.
