Your Christmas Gift from The Old Vic

The Christmas shopping rush is officially upon us. If you couldn’t face the onslaught of Black Friday deals but are still searching for the perfect gift, we might be able to help.

  1. OV200 SWAG

In May we celebrated our 200th birthday and so we have a fine array of unique OV collectibles including Bella Freud tote bags and t-shirts, a limited edition Gary Hume pocket square in collaboration with Huntsman and even a Fortnum & Mason Old Vic tea.

  1. Light Up The Future

If you’ve visited our theatre in the past 200 years you may have noticed the enormous queues for the ladies’ loos. As it turns out, architects in 1818 were not fussed about female toilet provision, but we most certainly are. We’re fundraising to make some changes and you can Light Up Our Future by donating something for our brand new toilets, from hand soap to a toilet seat, and gift it to a loved one. So if you know an OV regular who is frequently miffed by our loo queues, look no further.

  1. Name a Seat

If your loved one is even more vexed by our toilet provision, you can go one step further and make larger donation towards our OV Tomorrow fundraising campaign by naming a seat in our iconic auditorium in their honour. With prices starting from £500, this is a special way to mark your significant other’s enjoyment of extraordinary, adventurous theatre (and short interval queue times).

  1. Gift Membership

It doesn’t come in a large box and it isn’t particularly easy to wrap, but this is gift for theatre lovers that will stay with them for the whole year. We want everyone to be able to access the benefits of being a friend of The Old Vic, which is why we offer a range of levels to suit all budgets. Starting at £35 for a year on Direct Debit, memberships include a dedicated booking line, priority booking for main stage productions, Q&As and more. To get closer to the artistic life of the theatre those donating at Patron level and beyond are also invited to exclusive behind-the-scenes events with insights into rehearsals, pre-show drinks receptions and talks from members of our casts and creative teams.

As well as the obvious perks, our supporters also play a vital role in ensuring that The Old Vic remains one of the most iconic and vibrant theatrical powerhouses in the world, enabling creativity and talent to flourish. As a registered charity (we get no regular public funding) supporting us in one of these ways allows us to create a legacy for the future, nurturing the next generation of theatre makers and passing on the unique power of live theatre to people from all backgrounds.

Treat a friend (or yourself) this Christmas.
