Achates Live! At The Old Vic
Free monthly fundraising and organisational resilience breakfast workshops for small arts organisations from October 2019
Achates Philanthropy and The Old Vic are delighted to announce a new partnership to extend their work with emerging talent and small arts organisations, through free monthly breakfast workshops.
Fundraising has long been identified as a skill shortage area in the creative industries and accessing quality advice and support to ensure resilience can be challenging for emerging talent and small arts organisations.
Over the last six years Achates Philanthropy Ltd has worked with over 500 arts organisations across the country and has established an understanding of the needs of small organisations, identified clear skill shortages in fundraising, and a demand for accessible and affordable training and development opportunities in fundraising and organisational resilience from emerging artists and small arts organisations. This training will support their development and sustainability at a time when funding sources are under ever greater pressure.
Achates Philanthropy Ltd already offers hundreds of pro bono sessions to small arts organisations each year and has forged this new partnership with The Old Vic, who are building on their existing commitment to supporting emerging talent and smaller charitable organisations in Lambeth and Southwark. This all forms part of the theatre’s development of The Annex (opening 2022) as a new arts hub for the community.
The workshops will launch in October 2019 as part of Achates Live! programme of events and the first workshop will have a focus on The One Change You Can Make for Successful Fundraising and we will ask attendees to propose subjects they would like to explore in future sessions, which will run from 8:30am to 9:30am with initial 2019 dates scheduled for: 15 October and 5 November. Workshops will take place in the Baylis Bar at The Old Vic, before relocating to The Annex when completed.
