Looking back on 2019

There were seven productions on our stage. The year started off with a bang with two Arthur Miller plays, The American Clock and All My Sons. Present Laughter brought us plenty of summer joy – and isn’t over yet as it goes around the world with NT Live. Autumn got everyone talking with A Very Expensive Poison and Lungs and we finish 2019 full of festive fun (not to mention full of mince pies) with A Christmas Carol.

It took nine months to transform our building and we are delighted to now be accessible for the first time in our 201-year history.

We brought free theatre, workshops and training to 10,000 people across 15 education, community and artist development projects.

We held 12 shows, talks and Q&As through our Voices Off, One Voice, Families and Lates programmes.

310,459 people saw a show at The Old Vic this year.

Thank you to everyone who came through our doors this year, for a show, a talk, a workshop, a coffee or just a chat – and we look forward to seeing you all in 2020.
