Top tips for socially distanced theatre
Make your experience A Monster Calls more authentic with our tips for viewing from home.
1. JOIN THE WATCH PARTY
Start a (or commandeer an existing) group chat with friends and family, set a date and a time and hit play. If you want to go the extra mile have a group video call or meeting set up on the seat next to you for the whole performance.
2. NO PHONES
To get the full theatre experience we’d suggest turning off your mobile phones and please – no photos or videos of the performance itself*. This has been made possible thanks to the kindness and generosity of the parties involved so please help us to protect their work.
That being said, photos of you and your watch party and live audience tweeting are (unusually) permitted – make sure you tag us @oldvictheatre and use #YourOldVic
Ice cream is heartily encouraged, as are any other snacks (particularly those with minimal wrapping and limited crunch).
There will be an interval (although you will need to hit pause) – consider placing an interval order with your primary tea or coffee maker well in advance. And do use this opportunity to visit the loo (allowing time for a 20-second hand wash).
It is considered polite to applaud the company at the end of the performance if you enjoyed it.
7. SEE IT AGAIN
If you enjoyed it, watch it again – the show will be available to watch until 7pm on Thu 11 Jun.
