Making Theatre Experiences Accessible
The Old Vic aims to be welcoming and accessible to all and is committed to making a visit to the theatre as easy and enjoyable as possible, despite the challenges of our 200-year-old building. We strive to ensure that everyone who comes through our doors can have the same memorable and rewarding experience.
We host one captioned and one audio described performance for every main stage production in our season as well as touch tours where patrons can handle costumes and props and learn more about what they are about to experience. We provide discounted tickets and specialised literature, including braille programmes, for every production. Furthermore, in 2015 we upgraded our infrared Sennheiser audio enhancement system in the auditorium for the benefit of hearing impaired patrons.
