The Old Vic presented a new version of Aladdin with all the popular characters and pantomime ingredients, including Ian McKellen (Widow Twankey), Maureen Lipman (Dim Sum), Roger Allam (Abbanazar, Sam Kelly (Emperor), Joe McFadden (Aladdin) and Ramon Tikaram (Genie).

Panto has everything theatrical song, dance, verse, slapstick, soliloquy, audience participation, spectacle, cross-dressing and a good plot, strong on morality and romance. What more could you want for a family outing?
