The Greatest Wealth 2020

Curated by Lolita Chakrabarti
Directed by Adrian Lester
‘No society can legitimately call itself civilised if a sick person is denied medical aid because of lack of means.’ Aneurin Bevan
Originally staged in 2018, we returned to The Greatest Wealth series of monologues curated by Lolita Chakrabarti and directed by Adrian Lester to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS, in 2020 as part of Your Old Vic. Spanning each decade since the creation of the NHS, audiences could revisit all eight of the original monologues plus a brand new commission for 2020 written by Booker Prize winning author Bernardine Evaristo entitled First, Do No Harm and performed by Sharon D Clarke.
One Voice monologues are funded by the TS Eliot Estate.
