Director Joe Murphy in rehearsal with John Boyega

Baylis Director

ABOUT THE SCHEME

The Baylis Director is an annual post that provides one director the opportunity to direct a full-scale production at The Old Vic, a fund with which to commission a new piece of work, and a chance to shadow the Artistic Director, using The Old Vic’s space and resources to research and develop projects. This year’s Baylis Director is Tinuke Craig.

Tinuke directed Regina Taylor’s Aisha (the black album) in March 2021, as part of our One Voice series, and is directing August Wilson’s Jitney which will play at The Old Vic from 09 Jun–09 Jul 2022.

Supported by The Old Vic Impact Fund and a generous donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

Support the Baylis Director scheme by making a donation to the Impact Fund.

THANKS TO OUR SUPPORTERS

The Old Vic’s Principal Partner Royal Bank of Canada have enhanced their support to become Principal Partner of The Old Vic’s Emerging Talent Programme, enabling the Baylis Director and Baylis Assistant Director programmes, and the Connect Network.
