Choose any of the monologues you have written so far and, using the text as a starting point, try to answer the questions below. Answering these questions is also useful if you are performing a monologue written by another person:

• Where is your character?
• Describe the place.
• What time is it?
• What was your character doing before they started speaking?
• What will your character do after they have finished speaking?
• If your character is talking to someone, describe them.
• If your character talks about someone, describe them.

Once you have answered these questions, get up and speak your monologue. Remember, you can edit your monologue in response to anything you have discovered in your answers to the questions above.
