It has captured the hearts of readers, audiences and misers for almost 175 years and now Matthew Warchus will bring Charles Dickens’ timeless classic to The Old Vic in a joyous new adaption.

Following his ‘truly anarchic’ portrayal of the Fool in 2016’s King LearRhys Ifans will take on the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. We’re also welcoming back Jack Thorne who, hot on the heels of his stage adaptations of Woyzeck and The Cursed Child, will be reimagining this cherished tale for our brand new stage production. Full of heart and festive cheer, this vivid re-telling of Scrooge’s journey through Christmases past, present and future opens on 29 November with previews from 18 November.
