Watch the above scene, performed by Katy Daghorn and Louie Keen. Observe how Roberta directs them at the end of the video. What did you notice about the way Roberta phrased her notes? As we said in the beginning, directing is about collaboration. A top tip to get the best out of your actors is to ask questions.

- The characters’ given circumstances.
- The status of the characters in this part of the scene.
