Task

Design an outfit for the main character from the monologue we looked at earlier. If you are using a different piece of text for your design pick one character and design a costume for them. Remember, your moodboard can provide you with ideas and inspiration.

You can download the template below to start you off or draw something by hand in your notebook. This isn’t about the quality of your drawing skills. You do not have to be good at drawing to be a designer. The most important thing is that you can communicate your ideas.

Remember that every little detail is important, down to a character’s hairstyle or choice of makeup. You must be able to justify your choices. If you need some inspiration, look at the production images below for examples of costumes that have appeared on The Old Vic’s stage.
