Travel Info
There are several Santander Cycle hire docking stations near The Old Vic. There are bike racks next to the theatre on Webber Street, Lower Marsh and Waterloo Road.
Please be aware, we cannot accept bikes in our cloakroom.
Local routes include 1, 168, 171, 172, 176, 188, 68, N1, N171 and N68. Visit the TFL website to plan your journey.
The Old Vic is inside the Congestion Charge zone.
The Congestion Charge is a £15 daily charge if you drive within the Congestion Charge zone 7am–6pm Mon – Fri and 12pm – 6pm Sat–Sun and bank holidays. No charge between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day bank Holiday (inclusive).
Hayward Gallery and Hungerford Bridge (both open between 7am–1am daily) visit the Southbank Centre website for more information; National Theatre Car Park (open between 7am–1am daily) visit the National Theatre website for more information; Union Car Park, 53 Southwark Street, SE1 1RU (open between 6am–8pm daily).
The Old Vic is on the junction of Waterloo Road and The Cut.
The Old Vic is brilliantly connected to many major tube and train lines.
We are two minutes’ walk from Waterloo station, served by the Northern, Bakerloo, Jubilee and Waterloo & City tube lines, as well as the South West national rail line. Exit via EXIT 2 (Waterloo Road) and turn right; The Old Vic is straight ahead of you, approximately 220 steps away.
Waterloo East, served by the South Eastern national rail line, is also a five minute walk away.
We are two minutes’ walk from Southwark station (Jubilee tube line) and 15 minutes’ walk from Blackfriars station (District and Circle tube lines, and South Eastern national rail line). All these stations are in Zone 1. Visit the TFL website to plan your journey.
Opening Hours
The Old Vic building is open from 10am until the evening performance ends, Monday to Saturday. (Closed Sunday)
Our Box Office is open from 10am–5.30pm Mon–Fri (open 10am until the show starts on performance days, including Saturday).
The Old Vic Cafe & Bar will open one hour before showtimes and will be closed after the interval.
